I just took a really hot shower. Not because I necessarily needed one (although my stinky brother-in-law, Toby, would probably say I do), but
just because I could.
Some people may call that
wasteful, but I think of it as
grateful; because I have the
privilege and
luxury of taking a hot shower WITH SOAP whenever I want, unlike most people in our world. It's funny to think of something so simple as showering, or even having supper on the table each night, as a luxury. But it's those
little everyday things like that that we take for granted while some people don't even have the
option. I am so fortunate to live in the
time and
place that I do where most of my complaints are about
too much homework or
not liking what's being served at a meal, instead of not even having the option to have an
education or
food. I'm not sure why some people have it "better" than others, why some people are given more
opportunities than others. I'm not really sure if I'll ever really know; but for whatever reason I am so
blessed with
family,
friends, and
all the other little everyday luxuries in my life, I hope that I
never forget to be grateful -
no matter what - and to use the resources and opportunities I have to help people who aren't as fortunate as I am.
I just took a really hot shower - not because I needed one, but
just because I could...
...and I probably will again tomorrow morning. :)
